Big_Barry: Welcome to my blog. My name is Barry Wickham Jr and I am from Bandera, TX. My blog is writing on the things I find interesting in music and some of the things I encounter while recording music and how I learn from them. I also speak on my personal life and the journey of being a returning college student, father, and musician. I have been playing the bass for over 20 years, and although I don’t consider myself an expert in the least bit, I find that I am constantly learning new things and relearning fundamentals as well as discovering and rediscovering avenues and approaches to understanding how music works and flows through us. I elaborate on my findings and how I learn to solve a problem or tackle a certain situation. In my own experience through seeking advice and answers to issues I am trying to resolve, I find if someone who comes off as real and approachable, tells the truth through their experience, and provides valid enough ideas supported by real life attempts then I trust their intuition to follow and start to explore on my own.
